Walking Tour Guide

The Highlands Edmonton Historical Walking Tour Guide

“This booklet was originally prepared as a joint project by the Inventory Programme of Alberta Community Development of the Highlands Historical Society. Funding for its publication was provided by the Alberta Historical Resources Foundation. The 2012 edition was a collaborative effort by the Highlands Historical Society, the City of Edmonton and the Historic Resources Management Branch of the Province of Alberta.”

The Highlands Walking Tour Guide is a wonderful companion to any of our guided tours. It is also very thorough and  fun to complete all on your own! A map of the tour route is provided. It takes approximately 2 hours to complete the tour.

Copies of the new “Centennial Edition” guide can be obtained at HHS events and quite often from local merchants. An electronic version of the old tour booklet is available on the City of Edmonton website:

Also, from the City of Edmonton, check out the Highlands edition of the “Communities on Foot” series walking guides. These guides were created as a joint project of Walkable Edmonton, Active Edmonton and local Community Leagues to promote walkable communities.
