Nancy Power, a founding member of the Highlands Historical Society, will be remembered

Nancy-Power
Nancy Power, a founding member of the Highlands Historical Society and long time resident of the Highlands neighbourhood in Edmonton, passed away on August 10th, 2019.  This vibrant lady, 93 years young, was an astute business woman who was a supporter of politics, a true friend and patron of the arts and asset to the Highlands Historical Society in its first 13 years!
She was a great friend of the neighbourhood. Often found sitting on her front porch with her latest dog at her feet, she would wave you up to sit and chat about your family and the latest happenings in the neighbourhood and city.  From the community league, historical society to national arts organizations, Nancy was a worker, supporter, board member and friend of many artists and performers locally and internationally.
Nancy’s 1914 craftsman home with the address carved in the stone marker as 6018 – Jasper Ave (111 avenue) is a historic jewel in the Highlands; it is one of the best preserved exteriors of this style of home in the city.
Our condolences go out to her family and friends.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at the Highlands Golf Club, 6603 – Ada Blvd on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 2 – 5 p.m. with remarks at 3:30 p.m. All are welcome.
